Eminem raps against 'kamikaze' Donald Trump, defending Muslims and immigrants

The profanity-laden video was released on Tuesday night during the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

It comes amid a growing controversy between Trump and his opponents over several African American NFL athletes refusing to stand up for the US national anthem, a practice known as 'taking the knee'. 

The US president, who has promised to crackdown on immigration including by building a wall with Mexico and slapping a travel ban on Muslims from several countries, has been outraged by the practice, which is meant to highlight continued racial discrimination in America.


"I'ma walk inside a mosque on Ramadan, and say a prayer that every time Melania talks [Sic]," declared Eminem, in explicit solidarity with Muslims that have been the subject of soaring Islamophobia since Trump ran for president then took office.

This is not the first time the controversial rapper, who is white, has taken aim at Trump. The artist released an eight-minute track called “Campaign Speech” last year, which lambasted the president and other figures.

He ends the rap with a proclamation: “The rest of America stand up / We love our military, and we love our country / But we (expletive) hate Trump.”

The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from AP.
