Ten Palestinians injured, one seriously, as Israeli forces raid occupied West Bank
Ten Palestinians were injured early Tuesday by Israeli forces in the occupied northern West Bank city of Jenin and Beita, near Nablus.
Israeli forces raided Jenin's industrial area zone leaving six Palestinians injured, security sources told the Palestinian Authority's official news agency, Wafa.
One Palestinian youth was seriously injured and rushed to a hospital in Nablus after a gunshot wound to the stomach. Others were shot in the leg, hand, and stomach.
Four other Palestinians were injured when attacked by Israeli soldiers at Mount Sabih in Beita, south of Nablus, according to Ahmad Jibril, director of the Red Crescent emergency centre in Nablus.
Two were taken to hospitals and two more detained by Israeli soldiers then released.
Rights groups have repeatedly accused Israeli forces of using "unnecessary and excessive force" and carrying out extrajudicial killings of Palestinians.
Israel has occupied the West Bank illegally since 1967, and commits various abuses against Palestinian civilians, human rights groups say.
More than 600,000 Jewish Israelis live in settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, in constructions considered illegal under international law.
