One Palestinian child dies of wounds by Israeli forces, two others wounded in occupied West Bank's Jericho
Israeli forces wounded two Palestinian schoolboys during a raid into the Aqbat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho, in the occupied West Bank, on Monday, 11 September.
Confrontations erupted during the raid between local Palestinian fighters and Israeli soldiers. The 'Jericho Brigade', a local Palestinian armed group, said in a statement that its fighters clashed with raiding forces until their withdrawal.
"Occupation forces began raiding the camp at 7:20 am, while children were on their way to school", Omar Abu Awad, a resident of Jericho and human rights activist, told The New Arab.
"The first raiding unit entered disguised in a civilian car", he said. "Shortly after they entered, the occupation forces were confronted by local youth, and they opened fire, then the occupation forces pushed reinforcements into the camp".

"Two school boys, aged 12 and 14, were wounded with live fire by occupation forces in their lower body", Abu Awad added. "The occupation forces also arrested two young men, aged 20 and 16".
At the same time, confrontations erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters east of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank, during an attempt by Israeli forces to arrest a Palestinian young man.
Israeli forces also raided the Masayef neighbourhood in Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank, and were confronted by residents throwing stones.
Israeli forces also arrested eight university students in Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, and three other Palestinians in eastern Jerusalem.
Since the beginning of 2023, Israeli forces have escalated raids on Palestinian cities and refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, killing more than 200 Palestinians.

On Sunday, a 16-year-old Palestinian teenager, identified by the Palestinian health ministry as Milad Al-Raei, died of wounds caused by Israeli forces during a raid into the Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, last Saturday.
Hundreds of Palestinians mourned Al-Raei in the Arroub camp before laying him to rest in the camp's cemetery. Al-Raei's grandmother, who had raised him since childhood, told Palestinian media during the funeral that her loss was like "a tree has been chopped from its roots".
On Sunday, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh called "on international institutions with a mandate to protect children, especially UNICEF, to come out of their silence towards the occupation's crimes against Palestinian children", adding that "international silence encourages the occupation to continue its crimes".
Since the beginning of 2023, Israeli forces have killed 42 Palestinian children, according to human rights groups.
