US actress Lindsay Lohan welcomes first child with Kuwaiti husband in Dubai
The film actress reportedly gave birth to her son in Dubai, UAE, where she lives with her husband, the tabloid Page Six reported. The exact date of his birth is unknown.
The 37-year-old reportedly named her newborn Luai, a popular Arabic-language name for boys.
A representative of Lohan’s told People Magazine: "Lindsay Lohan and her husband Bader Shammas welcomed a beautiful, healthy son named Luai. The family is over the moon and in love."
The New York-born actress announced her pregnancy in March this year when she shared a photo on her Instagram page with a "coming soon" onesie. "We are blessed and excited," she wrote in the caption.
Lohan wed Kuwaiti financier Shammas in 2022, having announced her engagement the year prior.
Lohan has been based in Dubai for the past eight years, where she most likely met Shammas.
The actress is famed for starring in a number of teen-orientated comedy films in the early 2000s, notably Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, which catapulted her to fame.
In the late 2000s, Lohan struggled with drugs and alcohol problems and has only appeared in a handful of films since. Last year, she returned to the silver screen in the Netflix film "Falling for Christmas."
The actress, who also enjoyed a brief career as a singer, has made headlines in recent years for having an alleged friendship with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and for taking an interest in Islam.
However, it is not confirmed whether she converted to the religion or not.
