Mandalorian's Pedro Pascal urges Gaza ceasefire, medical aid in Instagram post

Hollywood actor Pedro Pascal has called for a ceasefire in Gaza, joining a growing number of celebrities and public figures who spoken out in favour of an end to the war.

The Chilean-born actor posted a picture of himself holding a sign that read 'Ceasefire Now' and bore the logo of medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

"Donate today 🙏. Link in bio. @doctorswithoutborders," Pascal wrote in the caption.

MSF, who have medical volunteers working on the ground in Gaza, have officially advocated for a ceasefire and urged Israel to end its forced displacement of Palestinians and indiscriminate bombings of civilians, which have so far killed over 21,000 Palestinians.

Pascal, 48, is known for his role as the lead character in Disney's Mandalorian series, as well as playing Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones and Joel in The Last of Us. 

Israel's war on Gaza has divided the Western entertainment industry, with some coming out stridently in favour of the Israel's brutal campaign, while others have backed a ceasefire and advocated for Palestine.

In November, Hollywood actors Susan Sarandon and Melissa Barrera were axed from talent agencies and movies over their stances in support of Gaza.

Sarandon, who has long been loudly outspoken over her support for Palestine, was dropped by Hollywood’s United Talent Agency for seemingly making controversial remarks at a rally.

Israel has bombed Gaza by land, sea and air for close to three months, targeting residential areas, hospitals and schools and killing tens of thousands of women and children.

Israeli forces have also been accused of committing war crimes in Gaza, with disturbing images of soldiers rounding up and humiliating civilians emerging on social media in recent days.
