A group of artists have turned a historic Cape Town neighbourhood into a symbol of solidarity with Palestinians by painting murals featuring emblems of resistance to Israel's military operation in Gaza, now in its fourth month.
The murals, incorporating images like the Palestinian flag, watermelons and olive branches, in the Bo-Kaap neighbourhood come as South Africa's government has accused Israel of state-led genocide at the International Court of Justice.
The court on Friday ordered emergency measures including that Israel must take measures to improve the humanitarian situation for Palestinian civilians in Gaza. It stopped short of ordering a ceasefire and has not yet ruled whether genocide has occurred.
