Last night, the Palestinian ambassador to the UK Husam Zomlot made an appearance on BBC News to talk about Israel’s assault on Rafah, where he mentioned that Israel is addicted to ethnic cleansing and called for an end to arming Israel and shielding it from accountability.

Palestinians in Rafah said on Monday that a mosque and several houses were hit by Israeli strikes, causing widespread panic among people who had been asleep.

The Gaza health ministry said 67 people had been killed and the number could rise as further strikes take place.

Some fear Israel has begun a long-feared ground offensive in the city, where more than a million Palestinians displaced by Israel's relentlessly brutal military campaign on Gaza are sheltering with nowhere else to go.
