Nicaragua drags Germany to the ICJ for aiding Israel's genocide of Gaza

Nicaragua is challenging Germany at the International Court of Justice, accusing it of contributing to the ongoing war and genocide in Gaza by supplying Israel with military and financial aid. Nicaragua's ambassador to The Netherlands, Carlos Jose Arguello Gomez, emphasised that Germany's support is vital to Israel's war in Gaza, which he argued could be facilitating genocide. Nicaragua's plea to the UN's top court in The Hague demands that Germany immediately halt its military support to Israel, aligning with obligations under the Genocide Convention. This legal move underscores a broader call for accountability amid the escalating human toll in Gaza, challenging international support structures that are enabling the genocide.
