A rare occasion in western mainstream media history in which a Palestinian has been able to speak freely on live TV without being interrupted or spoken over by a journalist.
CNN host Fareed Zakaria seemingly froze for a moment when Mustafa Barghouti, general secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative, gave evidence-based replies on Palestine, and asked why the US supported Ukraine in resisting occupation, but supports an occupying force in Palestine.

Barghouti also stressed that the escalation in violence in Gaza over the last few days was in response to the 16-year Israeli siege and occupation and that the only way to end the violence would be to end Israel's occupation and apartheid.
Fighting between the Israeli military and the Palestinian militant group Hamas continued to rage around the Gaza Strip for the third day today, with the total death toll surging above 1,300 at the time of writing. It comes after Hamas on Saturday launched a barrage of rockets and sent in a wave of fighters into Israel – many of whom paraglided in.
