These lightning bolts struck the iconic Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower hotel in Mecca, illuminating the night sky as fierce storms struck the Muslim holy city on Tuesday night.
The storm brought gale-force winds exceeding 80km (50 miles) per hour and flash flooding, and on Wednesday, schools were closed. No casualties were reported.
