Eyad Banat was at home in the West Bank when two masked Israeli soldiers suddenly stormed his house and subjected him to physical assault - all while the incident was live-streamed on TikTok.
Banat was engaged in actively raising funds for families in Gaza, also provided accommodations for eight workers from Gaza who were unable to return home after Israel's latest military campaign started on 7 October.
In an official statement, Israeli forces accused Banat of obstructing soldiers from conducting a search for "wanted terrorists," thereby resulting in his detention.
The statement also said a preliminary investigation by the military indicated an "unreasonable amount of force" was used, that the investigation is continuing, and that "disciplinary action" will be taken by a military commander.
