Israeli forces have once again opened fire on Palestinians in Gaza City as they waited for food aid, resulting in six deaths and at least 83 injuries.

This tragic event followed an Israeli airstrike on a UN food distribution center in Rafah, killing five, including one UNRWA staff member.

The international community, including the US and UN, has demanded investigations into these incidents, highlighting a dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza with widespread food scarcity and a looming risk of famine affecting a quarter of its population.

Amid escalating tensions, Israel now plans to relocate 1.4 million Palestinians in Rafah to "humanitarian islands" somewhere in the Gaza Strip, ahead of a possible ground invasion - which has reportedly been given the green light by the US.
