Mona Seif is a British - Egyptian human rights defender known for her participation in the 2011 Egyptian revolution, her use of social media to document human rights abuses and for her work towards ending military trials of civilians. Mona is one of the leading organisers of the #FreeAlaa campaign, dedicated to the case of her brother Alaa Abd el-Fattah, the British-Egyptian writer imprisoned in Egypt for most of the past decade.
