A man was arrested close to London's Natural History Museum after a car reportedly mounted the pavement and hit a crowd on the busy street in the UK capital.
A number of pedestrians are believed to have been hurt in the incident.
A spokesman for the museum stated that there had been a vehicle collision with pedestrians outside its entrance on Exhibition Road.
A witness told AFP there were armed police on the scene.
Police said they are investigating the incident, which comes after a number of attacks by extremists using vehicles to drive into pedestrians.
"Enquiries to establish the circumstances and motive are under way," police said in a statement.
