UAE suspended from global equestrian competitions over fraud

The United Arab Emirates has been suspended from competing in all international equestrian competitions over alleged fraud, global horse racing body said.
Abu Dhabi will no longer be allowed to take part in the events as a punishment for organising two local competitions in a bid to circumvent new rules, the International Equestrian Federation said on Friday.
An independent investigation revealed the UAE’s events, held in January and February, far exceeded the number foreign cavalry allowed in domestic competitions and thus should have been held as an international championship.
The suspension means the UAE will be banned from participating in all equestrian events till the new year, as well as competitions of endurance until March 2021, Arabi21 reported.
The ban was relayed to Emirati authorities on September 24 and confirmed Abu Dhabi has 21 days to appeal the decision.
The decision is the second such incident to hit the UAE in just five years.
In 2015, the UAE's membership from the global federation was suspended over its mistreatment of horses.
