The Israeli Shin Bet claimed that it had arrested a resistance cell belonging to the Palestinian Liberation Front (PLF) from the occupied West Bank involved in carrying out shooting attacks on Israelis.

Murad al-Kaabi, from Nablus City, and Khalid Abu al-Hija, from Jenin, were among the suspects arrested under the charge of planning to carry out attacks against the Israelis, according to claims by Shin Bet officials to various Israeli media outlets.

Israeli media also reported that "the arrested people were directed by Alaa al-Kaabi, a Palestinian leader based in Lebanon."

Al-Kaabi, born in Nablus in the occupied West Bank, is responsible within the PLF for coordinating armed attacks across the occupied West Bank, according to the Israeli claims.

"As part of his role," the Israeli outlets added, "Kaabi identifies and recruits Palestinian [fighters], some members of his family, to carry out attacks."
