Saudi Arabia has sent a third plane carrying humanitarian aid for Ukraine, the Saudi state news agency SPA reported on Saturday.

The relief plane carried 30 tonnes of aid, SPA said, adding that it was dispatched by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

The plane, which landed at the Rzeszow Airport in Poland, carried shelter materials, electric generators, and medical supplies.

On Friday, the oil-rich Gulf state dispatched two planes carrying 168 tons of humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

Last month, a Saudi delegation headed by Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan visited the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

It was the first such visit by a Saudi and Arab official to the country since Russia launched its war on Ukraine last year.

The war in Ukraine fuelled tensions between Saudi Arabia and the United States after the kingdom largely resisted pressure to ramp up oil production to ease the energy crisis resulting from the conflict.
