Qatar's health workers were celebrated on the Gulf state's national day celebrations with a special appearance at the annual parade along Doha's corniche.
An army of doctors, nurses, paramedics and volunteers from Qatar's Red Crescent society led the procession along the city's iconic seafront.
As the parade passed, Qatari ruler Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani stood and applauded the workers for their efforts during the country's coronavirus outbreak.
In the procession were also soldiers, horsemen and camel cavalry, as well as military aircraft and parachutists.
“I congratulate the people of Qatar on the occasion of National Day, which comes in a year with challenges, but was a witness to a journey filled with contributions and accomplishments … that made Qatar an oasis of stability, development and prosperity,” Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said on Twitter.
The Qatar National Day is an annual holiday that marks the unification of Qatar under its founding ruler, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammaed Al Thani, in 1878. The national day has been commemorated on December 18th every year since 2007.
This year's national day celebration ran under the slogan: "We Thank You, the Lord of the Throne, We accept your judgment in all actions”.
