A Palestinian teenager succumbed to his wounds Friday evening days after being shot by Israeli forces in occupied East Jerusalem.

Wadih Abu Rumouz, 16, died after being shot in the chest by Israeli troops during a raid in Silwan on Wednesday.

A separate incident in Silwan on Friday saw a 13-year-old Palestinian boy shoot and wound two Israeli settlers.

It came hours after a Palestinian man shot and killed seven Israeli settlers outside a synagogue in East Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov settlement.

The synagogue shooting happened after nine Palestinians were killed in the Jenin refugee camp by Israeli troops on Thursday, with a tenth being killed near Ramallah.

Israel began carrying out near-daily raids on towns and villages in the West Bank since early last year, killing, wounding and arresting hundreds of Palestinians, many of them minors.

The United Nations said 2022 was the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank since at least 2005.

This month at least 32 Palestinians have been killed by Israel.
