A Palestinian man has been shot dead by an Israeli settler on Thursday following clashes near the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian ministry of health said the vicrtim was Muataz Bani Shemsay, 23, from a village near Nablus and was shot after a settler car attempted to pass a crowd of Palestinian protesters.
Witnesses said the settler opened fire from his car after protesters had blocked the road near the village of Huwwara.
A photojournalist from the Associated Press was also shot and injured during the incident, the ministry said, with reports that Israeli soldiers opened fire.
Palestinian demonstrators had gathered near Huwwara in the northern West Bank to attend a solidarity march with hunger strikers in Israeli jails, Maan News Agency reported.
Israeli forces used tear gas and rubber-coated bullets to disperse the march.
Settler violence against Palestinians is routine, but over 90 percent of attacks go unpunished by Israeli authorities.
There were at least 107 settler attacks on Palestinians and their property in 2016, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
