Top English football club Chelsea FC has signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with Oman Air, the club announced earlier last week.

The deal, coinciding with Oman Air’s 30th anniversary, will see the Omani national carrier partner with the London-based football team for the next three years.

The partnership will include a specially-designed co-branded livery, which will be unveiled as part of Oman’s fleet later this year, as well as other promotional content and corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaigns.

"Oman Air is extremely proud to partner with Chelsea Football Club," Oman Air CEO Abdulaziz Al Raisi said following the deal. "Together, we hope to expand Chelsea Football Club’s following across the world, whilst showcasing the routes that we fly and the excellence of our service.

"We also look forward to using our partnership to highlight the rich culture of Oman to the club’s existing extensive fanbase," he added.

Al Raisi also stressed that the partnership presents a "remarkable opportunity" to showcase the beauty, culture and hospitality of Oman to Chelsea’s extensive fanbase, according to Arabian Business.

Meanwhile, the club’s Chief Executive Chris Jurasek, expressed being "pleased" with the deal welcoming Oman Air as the Stamford Bridge-based team's official airline partner.

'We have a shared ambition for innovation and success both on and off the pitch, and we are excited to bring this partnership to life for our fans around the world," he added

It is not known if the carrier will be used by Chelsea players for travelling to international fixtures.

Oman Air has a history of sports sponsorships. The carrier has partnered with the Omani Football Association for over a decade and has sponsored the likes of the Omani Paralympic team, Oman Sail and many more, according to Arabian Business. However, the newly-inked deal will be Oman Air’s first-ever Premier League club partnership.

The deal will likely give visibility for Omani Air's branding through advertisements and social media, targeting the global viewership of the Premier League.
