Israeli forces wounded and arrested a Palestinian near Ramallah on Monday after he rammed his car at an Israeli female soldier. The soldier was "seriously wounded" according to Israeli media.

The Palestinian, who has not been yet identified, drove a car at the Mukhmas junction, between Ramallah and Jerusalem, where he then allegedly rammed the female officer.

Video footage taken at the location shows an Israeli officer breaking the window of a car with the back of a rifle. The footage circulated on social media is said to be of the first moments after the ramming attack.

Israeli media quoted the Israeli police saying that the wounded soldier is a 20-year-old officer and she was taken to the Israeli Shaare Hatzedek hospital with a serious head injury.

Israeli reports further said that the attacker was also taken to the same hospital.

The attack arrived hours after the Palestinian health ministry confirmed the killing by the Israeli army of three Palestinians near Ramallah and Hebron.

Two of the killed Palestinians were brothers and students at Birzeit University, 21-year-old Thafer and 22-year-old Jawad Rimawi, who were shot dead during confrontations with the Israeli army in the village of Kufr Ain near Ramallah.

Palestinian Prime minister Mohammad Shtayyeh condemned the killing of three Palestinians on his Facebook page, calling it "a dangerous escalation".

The third was Mufid Khlayel, who was killed during an Israeli military raid into the village of Beit Ummar, near Hebron.

The killings on Monday raise the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces to 205 since the beginning of 2022.
