Israeli forces have reportedly detained 14 Palestinians, including an injured teen being transported by ambulance, in the occupied West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa said the arrests took place during the night and on Saturday morning.

A boy aged 17 was detained "while he was being transported by ambulance" between two hospitals, the Palestinian health ministry wrote on the Telegram messaging app.

The teenager was seriously injured after a bullet hit him in the chest, the ministry said, adding that the arrest took place at a checkpoint.

Among the other arrests were seven that took place in the Jalazone refugee camp, according to prisoners' groups.

They said the seven were among 10 people who had been interrogated during a raid.

It brings the total number arrested in the West Bank to 4,860 following the outbreak of the Gaza war on 7 October, according to the prisoners' groups.
