Israel claims it foiled attempt to smuggle drones into Gaza Strip

Israel claimed that its security forces succeeded in thwarting an attempt to smuggle small reconnaissance drones to Hamas, an Islamist group ruling the Gaza Strip. 

The Israeli ministry claimed to Israeli outlets that "our security personnel thwarted an attempt to smuggle ten reconnaissance drones into the Gaza Strip at the Erez Crossing."

According to the statement, the drones were hidden inside a suitcase and on a vehicle bound for the Gaza Strip.

"The drones are suspected to be used by Hamas in Gaza to improve its weapon power in the coastal enclave (...) it (Hamas) aims at threatening the security in Israel," Israeli officials informed Israeli outlets. 

So far, Hamas has not commented on the claims by Israel.
