An Iranian woman unofficially known as the 'world's most powerful woman' has broken her own record for pulling a truck, Iranian state media said Wednesday.

Iranian Giti Mousavi, 43, pulled a "truck weighing 17,000kg" (17 tonnes) in Tabriz, northwestern Iran, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Mousavi pulled the truck for 41 metres, according to the TRT and JINHA news agencies.

Mousavi pulled a truck weighing over 12,000 kilograms for 3o metres in April 2019.

Her most recent feat has not been recognised by Guinness World Records, a global authority that covers record-breaking achievements, as no representatives from the organisation were present during the attempt, according to Russian video news agency Ruptly.

An Iranian sports ministry official will deliver her official documents so that her truck pull can be registered as a national records in the coming weeks, Ruptly reported.

She will then be able to begin registering for the Guinness world record, the news agency added.
