Gunmen wound several Israeli security officers in attack near Jerusalem
Four people suffered gunshot wounds, including one who was critically injured, said the emergency medical service Magen David Adom in a statement, with another two people lightly wounded.
All those injured were members of security services, according to police.
The attack on a checkpoint guarding access to road tunnels linking the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem came on the 41st day of Israel's war on Gaza, which has so far killed over 11,300 people, most of them women and children.
The war began after Hamas carried out a surprise attack in Israel on 7 October, which killed an estimated 1,200 people. Hamas also took around 240 hostages.
Israel has occupied Palestinian East Jerusalem and the West Bank since the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
It has also besieged the Gaza Strip and attacked the territory on several occasions prior to its current war after withdrawing its troops from there in 2005.
