Four injured in fan clashes during Tunisia Handball Cup final
Four people were injured, including one seriously, in clashes between rival supporters that interrupted the final of the Tunisian Handball Cup, the emergency services said Wednesday.
The match was between two arch-rivals of the capital Tunis: Esperance and the African Club.
A spokesman for the emergency services said four supporters suffering from burns were hospitalised after rival supporters threw projectiles at each other in a sports hall in Rades, in the capital's suburbs.
Footage of the match shows what appears to be flames from coloured flares set off in the crowded stands of supporters.
Referees stopped the game in the 10th minute and police used tear gas to evacuate the hall, according to witnesses.
The match has been postponed and sanctions are expected against the supporters of both teams.
