Australia abandons niqab segregation plan

Women who wear the niqab or burqa will not be forced to sit separately in Australia's parliament viewing gallery, according to the prime minister's office. Veiled women were to be segegated under a plan that was announced at the beginning of October, causing widespread public outcry.
