Abbas to visit Kuwait for conference on suffering of Palestinian children
Palestinian ministers, along with social affairs ministers from all Arab countries are expected to attend, as well as diplomatic officials and charities based across the world – including Kuwaiti charities and UN affiliated organisations.
The conference aims to highlight the lives of Palestinian children under Israeli occupation and the role of the international community in ensuring their protection.
This announcement comes after Abbas met with the Saudi king in Riyadh during an impromptu trip amid unprecedented political upheaval in the kingdom.
Abbas met with King Salman on Tuesday and discussed efforts by US President Donald Trump to restart frozen Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations.
The leaders also discussed the recent reconciliation agreement to end the ten-year rift between Abbas' Fatah and viral Hamas.
The snap visit was planned only 24-hours prior to being announced, Abbas travelled to Riyadh after meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Sharm al-Sheikh.
