Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erodgan will travel to the UAE on Monday as Ankara and Abu Dhabi look to deepen ties following long-time unease.
Erdogan, who has not been to the UAE on official business in almost ten years, will stay for two days.
It follows key November discussions in Turkey attended by Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Khaleej Times reported.
In November, the two sides concluded multiple agreements and Abu Dhabi revealed it would be investing $10 billion in the Turkish economy, particularly in the medical, food and energy sectors.
Mohamed bin Zayed's presence in Turkey after a nine-year absence was crucial evidence of a shift in the UAE and Ankara's attitudes towards one another.
It is thought further deals will be agreed when Erdogan reaches the Emirates amid a desire to increase collaboration in areas like energy, farming, medicine and the climate, according to the Khaleej Times.
The two nations have long been at odds on pivotal Middle Eastern issues, including the Libyan and Syrian wars.
Amid a warming of ties begun in 2021 and focused on economic opportunities, they have reached 10 deals of late, including one in January on exchanging $5 billion worth of currency.
Turkey and the UAE carried out around $7.2 billion worth of commerce from January to June last year, double the equivalent 2020 figure.
