Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's trial for three corruption cases will begin on 17 March, two weeks after 2 March elections, according to media reports.
Last month, Netanyahu was indicted by Israel's attorney general Avichai Mandelbit for bribery, fraud and breach of trust.
The scandal revolved around lavish gifts accepted from wealthy businessmen, in addition to favours granted to secure favourable news coverage.
Netanyahu, the first sitting Israeli prime minister charged with a crime, has denied the charges. He will be required to be present at the session.
Israel's ministry of justice did not immediately respond to The New Arab's request for comment.
