Police arrest suspected Kurdish militant over Istanbul bomb attack

Six people have been arrested in Turkey in connection with a bombing in Istanbul which injured ten people.

Turkish police arrested a man today in connection with the motorbike bombing which injured ten people in Istanbul, on Thursday.

The man was one of six who were arrested and is alleged to be a member of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

The man was traveling in a car with two other people in the province of Aksaray when police arrested him, Anadolu news agency said. 

He was allegedly in possession of a fake identity card when police arrested him.

Police have been on the hunt for a man who left a bomb outside a police station in Yenibosna, North Istanbul, on Thursday.

The PKK, has long targeted police and military stations as part of its mission to install a Kurdish autonomous state in southeast Turkey.
