A legal team led by top UK barrister Michael Mansfield has filed a war crimes complaint with the Metropolitan Police against ten British-Israeli nationals who served in the Israeli military in Gaza. The complaint, submitted by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights and the Public Interest Law Centre, accuses the individuals of murder, attacks on civilians, and forcible displacement during Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza. The dossier is supported by 70 legal and human rights experts and urges the War Crimes Team to investigate and, if proven, prosecute. Speaking outside New Scotland Yard in London, Mansfield warned that states acting with impunity threaten the collapse of the rule of law. The report is based on six months of evidence and testimonies from survivors in Gaza. It covers alleged crimes committed between October 2023 and May 2024. Lawyers say the UK has a legal duty under international treaties and domestic law to investigate its nationals involved in war crimes, even without a formal complaint from abroad. This is the first case of its kind filed in Britain and is part of a wider international legal effort, including proceedings at the International Criminal Court
