Israel carried out an airstrike in Beirut’s Hadath suburb on Friday 27 March— its first on the Lebanese capital since the November ceasefire.
The targeted building sat next to a school, prompting panic among parents who rushed to collect their children. Israel claimed the strike targeted a Hezbollah-linked site.
But Hezbollah denied launching any rockets earlier that day, which Israel says triggered the response. The escalation comes amid rising fears of a broader war. A recent UN report accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire through ongoing cross-border attacks and continued occupation of Lebanese territory.
