Book Club: Ever Land by Amy Abdelnoor

In the latest episode of The New Arab Book Club, author Amy Abdelnoor joins Elias Jahshan to discuss her debut novel, Ever Land, which is set in Palestine at the beginning of the Second Intifada.

Ever Land follows Dinah, a Jewish teenager newly arrived from London, and Safa, a Palestinian whose family history is deeply rooted in the land, as their lives unfold on opposite sides of the Israeli occupation.

In this wide-ranging conversation, Abdelnoor discusses writing about Palestine through fiction, the complexities of identity and belonging, and how her own experiences working in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and the occupied West Bank helped shape the book.

Amy Abdelnoor is a British Arab writer and English teacher. She studied English and Arabic at the University of Cambridge. She lived and worked in the occupied West Bank and in refugee camps in Lebanon in her early twenties. These experiences inspired Ever Land, her debut novel, which is available now in the UK via Hutchinson Heinemann and coming soon to the US via Interlink Books.
