E1 settlement

The E1 settlement is an area in the occupied Palestinian West Bank, located between the Israeli settlement of Ma’ale Adumim and East Jerusalem. It has been a focal point of controversy due to plans for construction that could include 3,412 housing units, which many view as detrimental to the peace process and the viability of a two-state solution, as it would effectively divide the West Bank.

Several countries, including France and Britain, have pledged to recognise a Palestinian state during the UN General Assembly later this month.
