US launches strikes on Iran, clashes reported at sea in Gulf

Qatari mediators are currently in Tehran to try and bridge the remaining gaps to reach a US-Iran, despite continuing Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

Here are the latest updates from today:

  • Qatari negotiators are in the Iranian capital in an attempt to bridge the remaining gaps between Washington and Tehran to reach a deal that would bring an end to the regional war between the US, Israel and Iran.

  • US President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with more strikes, meanwhile, saying that Iran has "taken too long to negotiate a deal" and would now need "to pay the price".

  • In the Gulf, Iran's Revolutionary Guards attacked US assets in the region in response to American strikes on southern Iran.

  • Meanwhile in Lebanon, Israel has continued its military campaign, striking across southern Lebanon including the city of Tyre after issuing a forced displacement order on Tuesday. At least 12 people have been killed in Israeli strikes today.
