These were the updates earlier on Wednesday:

•    US President Donald Trump says that no talks are scheduled with Iran and claims that the US naval blockade remains in full force in the Strait of Hormuz.

•    Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the US is "begging" to negotiate with Iran after failing to force Tehran to surrender.

•    The UAE has cut all economic ties with Iran after claiming Tehran launched two ballistic missiles at maritime traffic. Iranian officials deny the attack.

•    Israeli attacks on Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and southern Lebanon continue.
