The Trump administration is preparing to announce the establishment of the International Stabilisation Force for Gaza next week, according to Israeli media.

The announcement will include the names of the countries that have agreed to send troops, Israeli public broadcaster Kan 11 reported, citing an unnamed official familiar with the matter.

According to the source, Italy, Kosovo, Albania, and Kazakhstan are among the states that will join the stabilisation force, which will be led by US Army Major-General Jasper Jeffers.

Kan's report said that preparations for the ISF's training, which will be held in Jordan, had been finalised in recent weeks. Israel reportedly expects that Hamas' disarmament will begin over the next 100 days, during which aid delivery and reconstruction are meant to accelerate.

The report says that the Israeli army has prepared a list of Hamas' arsenal and heavy weapons which it wants surrendered. To this end, Israel has also prepared weapons collections points along the Green Line.

According to a previous report by Bloomberg, the US has requested that Italy join the ISF as a founding member; however is yet to receive a decision from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that diplomats recently made the offer to the office of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the Italian Foreign Ministry in private discussions.

As efforts get underway to usher in the second phase of the ceasefire, attention has also turned to whether Israel will comply with the deal and withdraw from several areas of Gaza.

Thus far, Israel has killed more than 500 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire came into force in October, and has continued to obstruct the entry of aid.

At the same time, it has armed and provided protection for armed 'anti-Hamas' groups in Gaza, some linked to criminal activity and the looting of aid.
