Pro-Palestine campaigners will gather at Labour Party sites across the UK on Monday in protest at the government's "complicity" in Israel's ongoing genocidal assault on Gaza.
The Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) has called for a "siege" on 15 locations across the country on Monday evening, including at the offices of Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner.
PYM is an international activist organisation with chapters across Europe and North America. It has played a prominent role in the pro-Palestine protest movement that erupted in the wake of Israel's assault on Gaza.
The group is demanding that the UK government implement a full arms embargo on Israel, impose sanctions, and end surveillance flights over Gaza.
It also accused the foreign secretary of lying to the public about arms sales to Israel and is demanding his resignation.
The Labour Party's London headquarters and Health Secretary Wes Streeting's office will also be targeted in Monday's protests.
The UK government has toughened its stance towards Israel in recent months amid rising public anger, but has maintained full trade and diplomatic relations despite a growing consensus among human rights and legal experts that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
The government in September moved to block the sale of some arms to Israel, including components for F-16 fighter jets, drones and naval systems, though it has continued to supply parts for the F-35, Israel's most advanced warplane.
Earlier this year, it imposed sanctions on far-right ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir, as well as a number of individuals and organisations involved in the illegal settlement of the occupied West Bank.
Most recently, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced plans to recognise Palestinian independence in September, joining with G7 allies France and Canada.
PYM's call comes amid intensifying protests in the UK and around the world against Israel's starvation of Gaza's population.
More than 100,000 people gathered in Sydney on Sunday in what was the biggest protest in Australia since the war on Gaza began in October 2023.
In the UK, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign will hold another national rally in London on 9 August.
