US President Donald Trump has tweeted a claim by a far-right conspiracy theorist that Jews love him and consider him the "second coming of God", just hours after he made a comment criticised as being anti-Semetic.
The president quoting conspiracy theorist Wayne Allyn Root in a tweet that claimed the Jews of Israel "idolise" him, while followers in the US do not appreciate him.
"Thank you to Wayne Allyn Root for the very nice words. 'President Trump is the greatest President for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world, not just America, he is the best President for Israel in the history of the world... and the Jewish people in Israel love him like he's the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God," Trump tweeted on Wesdnesday.
He followed up with another tweet also seen about American-Jews.
"But American Jews don't know him or like him. They don't even know what they're doing or saying anymore. It makes no sense! But that's OK, if he keeps doing what he's doing, he's good for all Jews, Blacks, Gays, everyone. And importantly, he's good for everyone in America who wants a job. Wow!"
It follows a tweet by Trump when he accused American Jews who don't support him or criticise Israel of "disloyalty", viewed by many as another anti-Semitic slur.
"I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat - it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty", he said earlier on Wednesday.
Root who was one of the theorists who spearheaded a false theory that Barack Obama was not born in the US, something which would have disqualified him as president.
