US President Trump has arrived in Beijing for talks with China's Xi on the Iran war, trade and US arms sales to Taiwan.
China has urged Pakistan to ramp up its mediation efforts ahead of an official visit by US President Donald Trump to Beijing, aiming to help reach a long-lasting agreement to the US-Israeli war with Iran.
Trump asserted the visit would focus on trade, but said that he would have a "long talk" about Iran with the Chinese leader, Xi Jinping.
Tehran said "excessive demands" by the US and threatening rhetoric were the main obstacles to ending the war, stipulating that Iran must comply with five key conditions before entering a new round of negotiations with Washington.
The visit comes amid continuing tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, with the US State Department offering a reward of up to $15 million for information on IRGC oil deliveries.
Meanwhile, dozens of Israeli strikes killed 15 people, including two paramedics, in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.
