American superstars Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been spotted in Doha, joining the growing ranks of A-listers visiting the Qatari capital.

On Thursday, Qatar National Museums shared photos of Jay-Z on their Instagram account. The rapper was photographed enjoying the museum, wearing a black pinstriped suit with a casual white T-shirt. The post's caption read "We’re happy to welcome Jay-Z to the National Museum of Qatar, where we shared the story of our nation’s rich heritage."

The Museum, which opened in 2019, features exhibitions on Bedouin culture, the discovery of oil in the Gulf, and the natural history of the desert.

The next day, fans shared photographs of Beyoncé at what appears to be the YSL store in Doha Mall. The 'Texas Hold 'Em' singer was wearing a black abaya and headscarf with large sunglasses, but that didn't stop members of the public recognising and snapping pics of the star.

Beyoncé's choice to wear an abaya, which is a loose, robe-like dress popular in Gulf states, attracted both praise and accusations of 'cultural appropriation' but it is customary for expats in the Gulf to swap Western garments for the more comfortable, climate appropriate local garb.

The married couple joined a growing list of celebrities visiting Doha. Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Bella Hadid visited the city for Qatar Creates in 2022, the same year the country hosted the Middle East's first FIFA World Cup. The tournament also attracted stars from the world of football and beyond, including David Beckham, BTS star Jungkook, and Lionel Messi, who finally achieved his dream World Cup victory at Lusail Stadium.

Beyonce and Jay-Z have been married since 2008 and have three children together, Blue Ivy, and twins Rumi and Sir. Beyonce recently concluded her Cowboy Carter tour, which accompanied her album of the same name.

Jay-Z was also in the UAE earlier in the week to discuss investments in entertainment and artificial intelligence.
