Qatar is set to give compensation to those affected by Iranian strikes on the Al Udeid Air Base last month, amid Tehran's confrontation with Israel and its key ally, the United states.

The Gulf kingdom's Civil Defense Council held a meeting on Sunday chaired by Interior Minister and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, to identify the damage caused and compensate those affected.

In a statement posted to X, Qatar's interior ministry said the council reviewed measures taken and adopted new mechanisms to address the impact of the strikes.

Iran fired 12 missiles as the United States' Al Udeid air base in Qatar, following the targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities by US bombers. Qatar's air defences intercepted all but one of the missiles, which landed in the base.

Satellite images analysed by The Associated Press showed some damage to the army base. No deaths or injuries were reported from the attack.

Days ahead of the Iranian strikes, the US army moved assets and personnel from the base, indicating that Iran had communicated its intent to Washington.

US President Trump also has said Iran signalled when and how it would retaliate, allowing American and Qatari air defences to be ready for the attack.

Shortly after the Iranian attack, the Trump announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, bringing an end to the 12-day war between the two sides.
