Singapore football fans welcomed Egyptian star Mo Salah on the weekend with signs in Arabic and English as Liverpool concluded their tour of Asia.

At the National Stadium in Singapore on Friday, where Liverpool nabbed a 2-0 victory over fellow English side Crystal Palace, fans raised banners hailing the 30-year-old forward.

"We love you Mohamed Salah, you are our pride," read one of the signs raised at the stadium where more than 50,000 gathered to watch the two Premier League sides play.

"I want to be Salah!" read an English-language sign.

Nicknamed 'The Egyptian King', Salah is one of the world's most beloved and recognisable football players, thanks to a stellar few seasons for Liverpool.

His proud reverence for Islam has won him adoration from fans in the Muslim world in particular.

Liverpool will now prepare for friendlies in Europe and the domestic Community Shield, before the 2022-23 Premier League season begins.
