Mia Khalifa says Vivienne Westwood buried her photoshoot over Palestine stance
Former adult film star and media personality Mia Khalifa has claimed that the fashion house Vivienne Westwood buried a photoshoot she took part in three years ago because of her outspoken support for Palestine.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Khalifa wrote: “Bestie they buried a shoot I did w them 3 years ago bc of my Palestine support, but that’s ok bc miss Vivienne Westwood herself never would’ve done that to me so I still buy vintage [Sic].”
Khalifa, who has been a vocal critic of Israel during the war in Gaza, did not provide further details of the alleged shoot or specify whether it had been formally commissioned by the brand.
Vivienne Westwood, the pioneering British designer often associated with punk and anti-establishment fashion, died in December 2022. Her fashion house has continued under the creative direction of her husband Andreas Kronthaler.
The Vivienne Westwood label has not commented publicly on Khalifa’s allegation. The New Arab reached out to the press office team at Vivienne Westwood for comment.
Mia Khalifa is a Lebanese-American former adult film actress turned activist and social media influencer.
Khalifa, who garners millions of followers on her social media platforms, has gained attention in recent years after she waded into politics and social issues.
She has also been expressing strong views in support of the Palestinian people during Israel's war on Gaza, earning her the ire of supporters of the Jewish state and its genocidal actions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In October 2023, US adult entertainment enterprise Playboy announced it had cut ties with Mia Khalifa for statements she made after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel that month, triggering the ongoing brutal Israeli campaign in Gaza that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians.
