A man from the London flew nearly 3,000 kilometres to Morocco to get a haircut after he wanted to see if it was cheaper that way than to get one locally.

22-year-old Muscab Salad said on his social media pages that he wanted something cheaper than the ₤41 (US$53) he usually pays at his local barber shop, which includes travel expenses, as he was preparing for a trip.

The Londoner decided to weigh out his options, and decided on Morocco for a cheaper alternative, saying he sought out the North African country due to the positive reputation barbers have in the Arab world.

He then managed to find a ₤15 (US$19) flight to Marrakech and booked a one-night stay at a hostel in the city for ₤10. A taxi ride from the airport to his accommodation cost ₤6, he said.

The west Londoner is travel content creator on TikTok, specialising on landing cheap travel deals for various destinations.

After landing in Marrakech, the 22-year-old content creator filmed himself wandering the streets of the touristic city, and found a barber shop offering haircuts for ₤8. The entire trip, and the haircut, cost ₤39 - ₤2 cheaper than in London.

To document his experience, the TikTok creator posted a viral video on his page, asking: "Is it possible to fly all the way  to Morocco to get a haircut cheaper than the price of London?"

Salad said he was happy with the end result, and glad that he took on the challenge he set himself out to do, despite the language barrier.

"I was happy with the result, it was just as good [as haircuts back home]. I'd recommend [as] you get a free holiday. I think it's fun, it's way cheaper and you get more of an experience. Barbers are associated with Arab countries... so you should definitely do that, you get an experience out of it."

The 22-year-old has created similar content on his page in Morocco and other countries, seeking to find cheaper alternatives to products and good usually more expensive in the UK capital.
