Kuwaiti Emir Mishal al-Ahmad al-Sabah has ordered a limited cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, according to state news agency KUNA.

The changes include appointing Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah al-Salem al-Sabah as Minister of Defence and modifying Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud al-Sabah's role to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Sheikh Fahad al-Sabah previously held the positions of First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Interior.

The newly appointed Defence Minister Abdullah al-Sabah has taken the constitutional oath, KUNA reported.

The emiri decree instructs the cabinet to enforce the changes immediately upon publication in the official gazette.
