Israeli settlers shot a 16-year-old Palestinian boy in the pelvis on Saturday morning, following an attack on homes in a village in the southern West Bank, multiple reports stated.

The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed the shooting, adding it took place in the village of Kisan, southeast of Bethlehem, and said their crews treated the young boy.

The Red Crescent also stated he was later transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Hassan Mleihat, the general supervisor at the Al-Baydar human rights organisation, told The New Arab’s Arabic language sister site, Al-Araby al-Jadeed that the teenager has been identified as Awad Ibrahim Ta’amra and that the incident occurred when dozens of settlers descended onto homes in his village and vandalised them.

He said the settlers smashed the windows of houses and opened fire at residents when they tried to confront them, and that the attack was carried out under the protection of Israeli forces.

The incident comes amid other waves of Israeli arrests and attacks in the occupied West Bank.

Early on Saturday, three Palestinian men were detained in a suburb east of Tulkarem. The men, identified as Adel Qassem, Ali Abu al-Rub, and Youssef Helmi abu Salah, were taken from their homes after they were ransacked and searched.

Local sources also reported that Israeli forces arrested four international activists in the village of al-Mughayyir, located northeast of Ramallah, after they stormed a farm belonging to a local named Rizk Abu Naim.

The activists were in the area to show their solidarity to Palestinians who are facing an unprecedented uptick in Israeli incursions and raids, particularly targeting Palestinian property including farms, olive groves, and livestock.

Early on Saturday, Israeli forces closed the entrance gates to the village of Nabi Saleh, northwest of Ramallah, severely restricting the movement of Palestinian civilians, the official Palestinian Wafa news agency reported.

A correspondent from the news agency said Israeli forces stopped vehicles from entering or exiting the village, and made people use alternative routes, effectively stopping people from continuing on with their daily routines and commuting to work easily.

On Friday evening, Israeli forces carried out another arrest in the occupied West Bank, targeting a young man named Sameh Janjra, from the village of al-Badhan, located near Nablus. He was detained after Israeli forces raided his home at dawn.

In Qalqilya too, Israeli forces detained a man named Yazan Yasser Maraaba, after he was stopped at a military checkpoint.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 2,842 Palestinians were forcibly displaced from their homes in the occupied West Bank between January 2024 and September 2025 due to damage and destruction caused by Israeli military incursions.

Since the start of Israel’s war in Gaza in October 2023, over 18,000 Palestinians have been detained in the occupied West Bank, with rights groups stating that many of them are arbitrary and do not follow legal procedures.
