Israel's military on Wednesday issued immediate evacuation orders for four villages in southern Lebanon to ahead of incoming strikes on what it claims is Hezbollah military infrastructure.

In a series of messages on X, the military posted maps identifying sites in Deir Kifa and Shahour and said remaining in the vicinity "puts you at risk". It later issued similar warnings for the villages of Tayr Falsay and Aynata.

"The IDF (Israeli military) will soon strike military infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organisation across southern Lebanon, in response to Hezbollah's prohibited attempts to rebuild its activities in the area," said its Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee.

"You are located near buildings used by Hezbollah. For your own safety, you must evacuate them immediately and move away from the area."

The New Arab's Arabic-language site, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, said Israeli strikes have already hit the two villages, with ambulance services already tending to Deir Kifa's residents.

Schools in the villages and their vicinity have also been evacuated, following Israel threats.

It was not immediately clear if there were any casualties in the strikes.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Israeli military killed who it said were two Hezbollah members in strikes the previous day on southern Lebanon, where it has carried out repeated attacks in violation of the ceasefire, in place since late November 2024.

The ceasefire was intended to halt more than a year of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, which began after the start of the Gaza war in October 2023.

But Israel has violated the ceasefire hundreds of times, killing scores of Lebanese. The Israeli military also refuses to leave the five border areas it remains stationed at, deeming them "strategic," and saying it will not leave before Hezbollah is fully disarmed.

On Tuesday, Israel said it struck the crowded Ain al-Hilweh camp for Palestinian refugees in southern Lebanon, killing at least 13 people, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

Hamas denied it had military installations in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon and called Israel's claims "lies".
